Orange hauler on Flickr.
Ok, back to posting pics of MOC’s at Brickvention 2012 as if there is actually someone out there that cares about this stuff. Well, whatev’s, it helps me to write as if i’m talking to someone so expect that to continue. :P Talking of conversation, i had a great chat with Shannon Sproule at BV, i’d admired his stuff on Flickr for ages so it was awesome to meet up. He comes from a painting background too, so a lot of our visual language feels really similar. This is his “Space hauler”, my favourite of the two MOC’s he brought with him. The bulk use of orange is really eye catching and the complex shapes at the front end of the hauler are quite something! Subtle enough to not detract from the functional look of the hauler, they give it a bit of an organic, bug-like look. Shannon also leaves it to your imagination to decide if the hauler is manned or not (is that slim orange box sticking out a bridge?), a decision that can radically affect your perception of it’s scale.
