Ron Weasley’s 1st Date 2 on Flickr.Ok, so last weekend (20th-22nd Jan) i went to this Lego convention in town called Brickvention. It’s been going for a few years now, but has really started getting big in the last few years. Last year it was at the Melbourne town hall, the public display was only for one day and the line went all the way around a city block. Same venue this year but 2 public days and the place was still packed. Apparently it will be at the Exhibition centre in Carlton gardens next year, a bigger venue again.
Anyway, i want to show you some of the amazing creations that i snapped during the con. We start off with Jennie Sasson’s huge “Ron Weasley’s 1st date”, a minifig-scale Quiddich pitch complete with players suspended on fishing wire, and of course the Weasley’s flying blue car. Other HP scenes were also added around the pitch, including the womping willow (which actually spun around!) and Hagrid’s hut. Oh, and before you ask, the display contained not less than 600 minifigures! 0_o
My display was next to Jennie’s and all i heard all day during the two public open days were the delighted squeals of thousands of kids…. “Mummeeee, it’s Harry Potter, look!” xD
Jennie won a very well deserved “3rd Best in Show” for her display. Which, by the way (just to cap it off!), was her first ever MOC! Crazy good.
